Have you got something to say on childcare?

Have you ever been frustrated by the lack of childcare in South Tyneside? Do you think the Council should be doing more?

Well now’s your chance to tell the Council what you really think because South Tyneside Council is inviting parents and carers to have their say on the childcare it provides.

The Council has a duty to provide good childcare for parents and carers of children up to the age of 14, or up to 18 for children with disabilities.

And, as part of a full assessment of childcare in the Borough, the Council is seeking your opinions on current childcare services, the quality of childcare and how childcare should be developed in the future.

Parents and carers can have their say by filling in a childcare survey on the Council’s website: www.southtyneside.info/childcaresurvey

The survey will also be distributed from schools, childcare facilities and at family events held in the Borough over the coming weeks.

The Council and its partners will use the findings from this research to ensure that the future childcare they provide is sufficient, flexible and responsive to the needs of parents and carers.
